Carolina Diamondback Terrapin

Carolina Diamondback Terrapins are medium-sized turtles with topshell (carapace) length of 6 to 9 inches. These turtles salt marsh and brackish coastal waters.

Carolina Diamondback Terrapins are potentially found along the entire coast of South Carolina. Along with other subspecies, Diamondback Terrapins are found along the eastern coast of the United States from Massachusetts to Texas.
